Instruments: Drums
I am a freelance drummer based in New York City, and I have been performing regularly since 2004. As a performer, I've been fortunate to gain valuable experience performing, touring and recording with numerous bands in varying genres, which has allowed me to travel the world to perform and teach. I have performed at a number of New York City's top jazz venues, including Dizzy's Club, Birdland Jazz Club, The Jazz Standard, The Jazz Gallery, Smalls Jazz Club, and others. Read More
Instruments: Piano Music Keyboard
My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part-time 7 years ago, and have been consistently tutoring students in Boston for the last 3 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I 've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Voice Electric Guitar Acoustic Guitar
I like to make my lessons engaging and fun. For students who are beginning their guitar journey, I like to start with the basic fundamentals of guitar, such as teaching them the body of the guitar (head stock, tuning pegs, string names, frets, how to hold and use a pick, etc.). We then will go on to learning how to position their fingers on the guitar neck and frets to play notes, learn chords and eventually, once they are ready, we will start working on age appropriate songs for the students to learn. Instruments: Flute
As I mentioned I use a similar method to my teachers, which includes ear training, practice on the instrument and improvisation. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I grew up being forced into piano lessons at the ripe age of five. My mother insisted and I rejected it. However, I had no choice in the matter. She wanted me to play the piano. So I learned. Once I started middle school, I joined the choir because I noticed that they were going on a lot of field trips. Little did I know that I would actually fall in love with singing. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
I am a fun and easy-going instructor and I love working with people. In 2015, I graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performances. Asides from viola, I also play piano and drums at local churches. I currently teach at Edward R. Murrow High School, so I commute between Brooklyn and Queens and am willing to teach in both areas. Viola and violin are the best instruments I can teach (up to advanced), with cello and bass at a beginner/intermediate level. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I'm a professional jazz saxophonist and composer who has lived in New York and performed around the world for 15 years. I began playing sax when I was 9 years old and quickly developed an interest in jazz. I started playing my first gigs at around 14 and decided to devote my life to the saxophone and music. I received a Bachelor of Music from NYU in jazz saxophone performance. Some of the highlights of my performing career have included concerts in Italy, Russia and Brazil, as well as performances at Lincoln Center and the Village Vanguard in New York. Read More
