I have found the last few years very rewarding as students become musicians. Since my first student I taught in 2004, through the days I taught at a music school, up right on to the present moment, I love passing the music onward as it was passed to me. Being a multi generational musician, it's important to me to teach this great artform and pass it down through generations. I also like to let my students know that "music lasts a lifetime." Because, if my students practice the material five days a week, for a minimum of 30 minutes, their skills as well as confidence will grow. Read More

I have experience teaching complete beginners to seasoned musicians. I have taught in-studio lessons, in-home lessons, and also have experience teaching private lessons. I have helped many students with reaching their goals, whether that is physically playing a particular piece, understanding the theory behind one of their favorite pieces, understanding how to create their own compositions, as well as other goals. This has been under many different genres like classical, jazz, rock. blues, funk, etc.. Read More

For beginning students, I initially focus on their setup and how to hold the instrument properly. Having this solid foundation helps in the future to avoid injuries and negative habits. At this point I would also begin introducing solo repertoire appropriate for a first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my teaching according to their level of interest, keeping lessons engaging and fun. Many times that includes playing fiddle tunes, which is very exciting to me too, since I have been involved in Irish culture since I was young. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My teaching experience dates back to my college days. I have held a private studio focusing on the core concepts of singing, vocal tonation and breath support since my third year in college. I help my students to find their own voice and their own sound. I don't encourage students to emulate the style of other singers but rather to find their own sound. During my tenure at Peabody I performed in various shows both on and off campus, including summers via many prestigious programs in Europe to include; Read More
Instruments: Drums
I love to see all my students develop a passion for drumming and music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson and by teaching them the songs they love the most. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More
