I have been teaching private music lessons for more than 30 years at my home and at my student's homes.  After I received my Master's degree I obtained my teaching certificate in vocal and instrumental music for grades K - 12.  I taught vocal music for the Jersey City Board of Education and later I taught strings for the  Kearny Board of Education.  I prepared students for auditions and recitals always encouraging them to practice and learn music theory and music history. When I went to college, I tutored freshman and sophomore piano majors to prepare them for jury (College competition evaluation at the end of sophomore year to determine if that student can continue in the music program). Singing has brought great joy to my life. From a young age my family and teachers encouraged me to overcome my inhibitions of singing so as to express my feelings through song. I began voice lessons at the age of seven with Verna Rantz, of Quakertown, Pa.. Verna had obtained her classical training at the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music and performed in the New York Metropolitan Opera company.
