I like to use the Suzuki books as a basis solely for musical progression, but technical set up is catered to differently for each student. Since graduating from Bethany College in 2010, I taught at a music studio in Wheeling, WV. Unfortunately, the studio closed down. Along with teaching there, I was giving private lessons from home and continue to do so. Teaching is something that gives me the opportunity to pass on what I've learned so far and also to instill students with the opportunity to continue a journey of lifelong learning with music. I was born in Montreal, Canada and started to learn violin at the age of four, in my grandmother's music school. My brothers and I attended weekly lessons at the school and music was part of our home life. I quickly developed a passion for music and became a more serious student in my pre-teen years. I'm a music education major that graduated from Mansfield University in 2016. As a performing musician, I have had the opportunity to perform some of the most demanding pieces for piano solo, as well as collaborative music. For beginners, I often keep my approach lax and hope to not overwhelm them, as Ive seen many a beginner quit due to lack of confidence and understanding. Every student requires a different approach not just due to their skill level but also their personality. Certain students dont take criticism well, while others may only improve through it. I started teaching while I was a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University.  I taught part time private lessons and worked for a Saturday Morning music program teaching Strings and Music Theory.  I have taught in public schools for 12 years teaching strings/orchestra to elementary, middle and high school students.  I have taught students individually, in small groups and in large groups and orchestras.  I have adjudicated at competitions and festivals and taught private lessons in violin, cello and viola over the last 30 years.
