I am kind, energetic, and engaging, but I can also be strict if it is required in order to meet the student's goals. I like to make learning and lessons exciting because it keeps the student engaged and inspired. At this stage the music becomes more difficult and lengthy, so I like to group phrases of the piece in sections until they can be played together cohesively. For younger children, my methods involve using the Alfred series as the staple of the course, but I also incorporate games and some other things into the lesson to make it fun. For intermediate and Advanced students, it is a completely customized lesson plan to the individual so I can't really say what direction we take before I have had the chance to sit down and analyze their individual needs.
