I hold degrees in flute performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and have performed and taught extensively in the Cleveland and western New York areas. I also have a special interest in music theory and music history, having earned Early Music Performer's Certificates through the joint music program with Case Western Reserve University and tutored music theory at the Cleveland Institute of Music. I trained at St Annes high school and the Calcutta school of music, India, where I studied under the then principal Fauzia Marikar. I like to find out why my students are interested in playing music. This helps me to create a lesson plan for each individual one. I like to start out teaching using Alfred's beginner books, and progress from there. Each student learns at a different pace, so I base my lessons off of their progress.
