I have taught a full range of ages and abilities from adult beginners to music school bound high schoolers to classes of young children and know that every student has a unique frame of reference and set of goals. For everyone, I focus on making the instrument feel as comfortable and organic as possible calling on my background with diverse movement modalities from Feldenkrais to dance to sports. I often recommend a Suzuki track for beginner students (I am SAA certified) and I always work to find repertoire and styles which are relatable for each individual. Read More

My teaching philosophy encourages exploration of music with a focus on the uniqueness of each individual student and their particular aspirations, typically emphasizing reading classical music and improvising solos for Jazz or other more contemporary styles while having fun growing as a musician! I try to make sure lessons are fun and rewarding by adapting my teaching style to focus on the student's learning style and interests. Like many of the students that come to me for lessons, I learned guitar at a relatively late age well into my teens. My teacher owned a non profit in which she used to create performance opportunities for me as well as other gifted students of hers. In Spring 2017, a completed my double major in Music tech and Jazz studies at UMBC. I have performed and various places around the east coast, including blues alley, Silver Spring Jazz fest, Howard theatre, and the Kennedy center.
