I combine patience with an upbeat demeanor to provide entertaining and informative lessons for students. I want my students to improve and I understand that in order to improve I need to motivate my students. Kids see results working with me and that is why they enjoy the lessons. Soon they find themselves wanting to practice on their own time and really love the experience seeing themselves grow as a musician. Read More
Instruments: Voice Flute
For young children (ages 4-10), I focus primarily on building a foundation in rhythm, pitch matching, and vocal warm ups (wolf howls, lip trills, tongue trills, etc.). I also encourage young children to bring in songs they enjoy singing, and use those songs to help build their understanding of musical structure. For slightly more experienced children (those who already can read music) I teach using the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) guidelines. Read More

My teaching style is very up beat and catered. I like to figure out what people are interested in and try to find ways for them to be able to follow their interests. I like to give small feedbacks when needed but also when they need a push in the correct direction, I will try to be honest and true to them. I love teaching from no experience to experienced. Instruments: Piano
I have been playing and competing with piano since I was 5 years old. My love for music led me to study at Shenandoah University for Music Therapy where I graduated with my Bachelors degree of Music Therapy with my major in piano and a minor in jazz piano. I've had the pleasure of working with students of all musical levels and I love being able to bring others the joy of music as I see it. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
Also more music theorey is introduced. Once good playing skills are obtained then we move in the direction of the students desired songs that they want to learn. Also, at this point I start using tabulature script as songs are expected to get more difficult and technical. It really all comes together and becomes fun. For Intermediate to advanced students I work primarily on technique and finding a style of play. Read More

The most important thing for me is that the student is playing in every lesson. I like to know what the student enjoys listening to, and go from there. It is my belief that there is nothing too hard to learn. Whatever the student is interested in, I promise we can get there. Learning songs not only helps build interests, but is one of the best ways to learn. I strongly believe in the importance of improvisation because I believe it helps develop many skills, and I love jamming with students in lessons. Read More
Instruments: Violin
Unless requested otherwise, I primarily work with the Suzuki Method. For those unfamiliar, this is a methodology formulated on the belief that all children are capable of learning the violin at any age and skill level. This method works with play learning, ear training, and instilling a musicality from a young age. I augment these Suzuki books with other exercises, depending on the skill level of the student. This includes Galamian scales and other etudes for them to build strong foundations. Read More
