My ultimate goal is to instill a love of music in my students. Because of this, I aim to create a positive, encouraging environment that welcomes mistakes and fosters exploration. Since every person is unique, I work with each student at his or her own pace and try to match my teaching style to the student's learning style. I started leading choirs as a teenager and have grown from there. I've taught theory and composition internationally (See a final project video on my profile), and taught violin and viola here in the States. I like to emphasize the importance of theory and composition throughout all lessons, as well as learning by play - music is an art of expression first and foremost. My method is the chest mix head method. I teach lessons about chest, mix, and head voice and how to smoothly transition between them and eventually have them become one. I help students find their range, I teach proper breathing techniques and warm ups that are right for helping them reach their full voice potential and even assist with choosing the perfect song for auditions and give audition confidence prep tips from someone who has auditioned and made performance roles in musical theatre productions in Pittsburgh Pa.
