My teaching experience actually started with tutoring friends and classmates in math and occasionally other subjects. I find that most principles of teaching are cross-disciplinary though, and it did not take me long to feel comfortable teaching cello. I maintained a small personal studio for about three years, during which time I also had a temporary gig introducing music to children with disabilities. I like to find out why my students are interested in playing music. This helps me to create a lesson plan for each individual one. I like to start out teaching using Alfred's beginner books, and progress from there. Each student learns at a different pace, so I base my lessons off of their progress. For young beginning students most of the time I like to use John Thompson's ''Easiest piano course'' as a practicing book,for their hands position and finger velocity I use ''A Dozen a Day'' and also I introduce them to music notation,spelling and writing with various Theory books . For older and adult beginners I choose different books.
