I try my best to keep lessons fun, especially with the younger students. For example, Sometimes we play music games, sometimes we walk/dance to learn about rhythm, sometimes we sing. I also have small group practices each month to combine students at about the same level, they play togher, they perform for each other, make constructive suggestions and encourage each other. After that I would start with hand technique, which is 3 basic stroke patter, and how to apply them to every part of Drum set. In 2012 I finished my undergraduatestudies and two years later i received a master's in interpretation and research in classical guitar. My methods as a teacher begin primarily with emphasis on fundamentals, i.e Bow hand position, violin position. I emphasize the need to practice on a consistent basis. As in any walk of life, there will be little to no improvement unless you do so. I also believe in treating each student differently, however, as there are some who simply want to have fun and learn something new. I have been a teacher for the last 7 years: having worked at after-school programs, I have learned how to understand the psychology involved in teaching and how to get students motivated but sparkling their curiosity based on their personal experiences. I encourage students to practice on a consistent basis for as much time as they can, but most importantly, I encourage them to listen. The art of listening is much understated in music education at times and is really what made a difference in my playing, so I like to include listening exercises that go along with technique in order for the student to develop a well-crafted musicianship.
