Since then, I have taught in church programs (choral students working on solo voice) as well as in the university setting (student teaching and TA voice class support). I wasn't a teacher then, but I did help out with my fellow musicians on some of the basics that they couldn't understand from the teachers. Being curious is one of the most important elements of learning an instrument and fostering the students innate curiosity and giving them a space to personalize their interest in the instrument is vital to my teaching style.
