So far, I've taught some kids and adults. I've learned that teaching kids versus teaching adult students is different. Each age group would require their own tasks. For instance, if I were to be teaching a kid who is maybe 10 years old, I would start off by introducing the notes on the instrument. Then, I would create games or exercises based on the new stuff we'd cover. For an adult student, I wouldn't use any games on them. Read More

I have different ways for different students. I will try to know how many students understand piano to avoid teaching the same things they already know. And help them find an adaptive way to practice to avoid boredom in learning. I will check and point out what's wrong and help students to fix and give new knowledge. I always teach as many as I can in every lesson. There is a goal for every student for their studying and in each lesson, there is a small goal to get. Read More

It is a great joy to see students learn, grow, and have fun! I begin by asking the student of their goals, and eventually help them develop new goals as they explore and find their unique gifts. Students are provided with a unique, well-rounded program tailored for them, including the foundational resources and understanding needed to fly with other musicians. Each student will find that I am looking into their musical interests and strong points as an outlet to keep the lessons personal and relevant, including compositions written just for them, while continuously stretching them to the next step as they advance to their vision. Finding the starting place for any student is important, regardless of age. As a child of an adult learner who took lessons in guitar and voice, I understand the distinction between adult and younger learners. The pacing, goal setting and choice of materials and resources is important to keep interest and spark inspiration to practice and maintain growth. I strive to make sure each person gets an experience crafted and prepared for them through gauging interests, setting realistic goals and being aware of what kind fo time commitment they have to meet their goals. I believe in being supportive, encouraging, and kind, yet firm. I encourage those students who are interested in performing by helping them to find opportunities. Every student is different and has different goals. We work to develop their potential. Some of my students are beginners and some have more experience. I like to make the lessons as fun as they can be and work on pieces and songs that the students enjoy! Read More
