Overview:
I am an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who likes succeeding with students and sharing my passion of music. In 2014, I graduated from the University of Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Saxophone Performance. Traveling all around the midwest has been one of the better experiences of my career as a musician, and I have had the chance to play both at Summerfest, as well as touring the United States in numerous shows as a musician with the european wind ensemble Blaskapelle Milwaukee, and my own jazz trio. My teaching studio is a very comfortable environment. It has plenty of resources.
EXPERIENCE
My instruction experience dates back to my time in high school, as I started instructing private lessons part time 11 years ago, and have been regularly teaching in my home studio throughout that time. Creating a consistent practice schedule is one of the ideas I like to emphasize for younger students, as it will be more likely to benefit student development, and help them grow a passion for the instrument. I have also discovered that a mixture of classical and jazz music can go a long way in helping students like the saxophone and influence them to practice and continue to learn. I will try to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible! My students are encouraged to participate in contests and recitals, so that they can feel good about their achievements and remain interested in learning more. I am looking to bring in new students of all ages!
METHODS USED
I usually begin with Kjoss Standard of Excellence for students who are children, or for students who are just starting out. I will start to present solo repetoire suitable for their first recital show when a student has gained an understanding of the basics. For adults, I try to understand what the student is interested in, and guide my teaching appropriately to make the lessons likeable and fun, no matter their skill level. Usually, supplementary studies books are fun and challenging for more advanced levels.
LESSON STYLE
Watching a student of mine cultivate a passion for music is very satisfying! So, it is important that every student develops at his or her personal pace. I support this by creating sensible goals for my students at every lesson. Recognizing accomplishments increases a students desire to improve, and makes students excited to learn more. By understanding what motivates a student, I can actively modify my teaching to their wants and needs.

Brandon is always very positive, has energy and very good with my pre-adolescent! He helped with my daughter's clarinet that wasn't working properly, took it to a repair store to fix and brought it back. That was great!

We have a 14 year old son, and Brandon is a perfect fit for him! He is positive, upbeat, knowledgeable and encouraging! We wish that we had found him when my son started 8 years ago!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
