It is a basic book with specific essential elements for reading and understanding music. As the student progresses I use to introduce songs for their repertoire applying what they leaned in the book. I love music and I love teaching! I took piano lessons as a child, was in a band as a teenager, and began giving piano lessons in my 20's. I teach all styles of music, sight-reading, music theory and ear training. For those students more more interested in learning pop or jazz, I give special attention to chords and "lead sheet" playing. For all beginning students, I like to start out with buzzing exercises and embouchure technique. This is the most fundamental part of brass playing. Having a strong foundation in creating a sound consistently and efficiently makes learning everything else about brass playing infinitely easier.
