It was my responsibility to organize and run sectionals, where I instructed my peers in the art of refining, practicing, and mastering the challenging orchestral repertoire that we tackled on a regular basis. The following year, I started teaching children between ages ten and twelve. Older children just beginning to enter the world of music will begin with the fundamentals of musicianship, sound, and breathing. From there I will progress to rhythm, pitch, and notation. When these skills are mastered I will get the students comfortable with their instruments and begin playing. Students that have a background in music with their instruments will be assessed to determine the level of teaching required.
