I've taught in New York City, Los Angeles, and Oklahoma since 2009. In New York City, I teach theatre technique at a musical theatre school. In Los Angeles, I teach Alba Technique at an Actor's Workshop. In Oklahoma, working with children, I've taught ages 6-adult, directing musical and theatrical productions like Grease, Les Miserables, Much Ado About Nothing, and The War of the Worlds. My teaching experience started 5 years ago. I was a senior in high school and was teaching a beginning student the trombone. Throughout the past 5 years I have continued to teach students when I was able to. I encourage regular practice and maintaining a consistent schedule. I always say 10 minutes a day is better then 30 minutes every 3 days. For younger students a combination or aural learning and written learning are great ways to help them engage and keep an interest. Read More

Many students give up simply because they don't know how to practice, but I hope to show them how easy it is to enjoy your practicing. Once a student understands and can see the fruits of their labor, it's very easy for them to push themselves. I want to give a student the opportunity to do that, but I can't force them to practice. I began teaching myself to play Guitar as a teenager and eventually taught myself to play other instruments as well. During this time I would learn all of my favorite songs by ear or with the help of tabs. Once I had started attending the Academy of Contemporary Music I learned more advanced music theory that relates to general music and Guitar. I have recently finished the fourth and final year of my doctorate degree in voice at the University of Oklahoma and am currently working on my dissertation. At OU, I studied with former Metropolitan opera baritone Kim Josephson. I was a good singer when I arrived at OU, but Kim, who has taken lessons from the opera legend Corelli himself, has transformed how I sing.
