Instruments: Trumpet
For those at a beginner level, I typically start with the basics of breathing, buzzing, embouchure development, scales, basic music theory, and basic instrumental proficiency. I also use the Hal Leonard's Essential Elements book to learn basic solos and melodies. For those at the intermediate levels, I start to incorporate scales, solos, range, and standard trumpet books, such the Arban Conservatory Method, Clarke Technical Studies, and the Iron's Flexibility exercises. Music has always been a passion for me. I'm motivated to work with students and show them how music can transform them as a person and musician. In 2016, I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelors in Instrumental Music Education and a Bachelors in Percussion Performance. Performing in different types of ensembles throughout the years has given me versatility as a precussionist in many different styles, such as marching band, classical, musical theatre, latin jazz and hip-hop. Throughout my music teaching career, I have enjoyed watching students progress on their instruments in both proficiency and their love of playing. I enjoy watching their weekly improvement on both the solo and ensemble level and encourage them to perform often in a variety of settings to build their confidence in public performance whether that be as members of school bands and ensembles or in public recitals showcasing their progress to both parents and friends Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
My teaching experience began at the University of Tulsa. I taught voice to a few students who were non music majors for about a year. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year. In my work as a teacher, I have helped students prepare for school competitions, studio recitals, talent shows, solo and ensemble contest, and musical auditions. Read More

I love sharing my hard won skills with all ages from school age to retired seniors. I am constantly searching for the best way to convey musical ideas and translate them into making players with the skills to enjoy what they are playing. We will not only learn how to play but why a piece of music works. Always with the goal of growing a player who is self sufficient with the skills to read, write and arrange for their chosen instruments. Read More
Instruments: Voice
Students often leave not only with improved technique, but with a renewed sense of confidence and self-trust. Creating that kind of transformation is at the core of my work. For me, teaching is more than instruction—it is facilitation, mentorship, and the creation of a space where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered. My goal is to help every student develop a voice they can rely on, both in performance and in life. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginning piano students I typically use the Alfred Method. Once the student demonstrates a grasp of the fundamentals I introduce solo repertoire. For adults I typically use the John Thompson Adult Piano Course and we work together to find the solo repertoire. For voice lessons, I typically teach the bel canto style. I will work with vocalises that help develop breath control, placement and open vowels. I also use the Music Theory for Singers program to teach Music Theory and also use solfeggi to build sight singing skills. Read More
