I base my teaching methods on the student I am teaching. For students that are children at a beginner level, I typically begin with the essential elements of creating vocal foundation which I draw from many sources. Once we have set a good foundation, we tend to begin working on repertoire that is appropriate for the level at which they are singing, using those songs as learning opportunities. My teaching experience started 5 years ago. I was a senior in high school and was teaching a beginning student the trombone. Throughout the past 5 years I have continued to teach students when I was able to. I encourage regular practice and maintaining a consistent schedule. I always say 10 minutes a day is better then 30 minutes every 3 days. After graduating from the University of Tulsa, I began teaching at Brook Fine Arts Academy in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I taught over 30 students a week in both voice and piano (ages 3 to 20) for over a year.
