After some discussions about what resonates with the student, we will both explore options we can really dig into and present in concert format later. Helping someone learn how to open up their voice and sing is a joyful experience. Every lesson includes a warm-up for the voice and a series of breathing and vocal exercises. that build skills and technique. The time spent on each part of the lesson varies from student to student to help them make progress. Instruments: Clarinet Music

For beginner clarinetists, we will begin working out of the Voxman/Gower Beginner Method Book. We will spend the majority of the first lessons learning posture, holding the instrument, proper embouchure, blowing into the clarinet, breathing techniques, articulation, and how to develop sound through long tones and exercises. During the process, basics of music reading and music theory will be taught. For intermediate to Advanced students, we will learn all scales and arpeggios using the Klose Method book. Read More

I'm a passionate musician who eats, sleeps, and breathes music. The minute I had a guitar in my hand since I was 14, I never stopped falling in love with the instrument. While I graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I was performing with local musicians around the area and taking jazz lessons with faculty and students within the university. Since moving to Detroit at the end of 2015, I have become integrated within the local Detroit music scene, playing with two bands currently, which have played music festivals such as the Hamtramck Music Festival and the Detroit Concert of Colors.
