My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching privately in 2009, and have been consistently teaching students inside and on-line from my home studio for the last 7 years. Committing to consistent practice as your schedule allows is one of the key points I emphasize for all students regardless of age, as only the consistency will help you progress, after all music is a language. My approach has always evolved and adapted as I learn new concepts and techniques, however I would summarize my approach to teaching piano as focusing on rhythmic development, playing-by ear with music reading supports and adding the perspective that the piano is a percussion instrument. Regarding musical repertoire, I emphasize a diverse and enjoyable repertoire especially for guitar ensemble and group classes. I tend to introduce my students to different cultures and wider musical experience by playing and practicing works composed by composers from around the world and even arranging traditional music of variety of cultures. For me, teaching in groups was always an enjoyable experience. In my view, making a friendly environment is the corner stone for having successful results. Read More

I started violin at the age of three under Loraine Fink in the Los Angeles area. My family moved around frequently when I was young, and, as a result, I had had more than ten different teachers before I was thirteen. I played in many school and youth orchestras, and in high school I attended North Carolina School of the Arts (now University of North Carolina School of the Arts) under the tutelage of Kevin Lawrence, one of the foremost pedagogical students of Ivan Galamian, who taught many illustrious violinists such as Itzhak Perlman and Pinchas Zukerman. I have played the violin for eleven years, and have a Bachelor's degree in philosophy. I studied biochemistry until taking a semester to study violin with Barbara Gorzynska in Vienna, after which I found an interest in the processes of learning and authentic relationships to one's activity. This time abroad was certainly a large influence on my teaching style, as I learned a great deal about the violin for one, but moreso was my education in philosophy. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I began teaching private music lessons a decade ago as an undergraduate music student. Working at a community music school, I volunteered to teach piano lessons and lead the choir. I fell in love with teaching and after receiving my Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance, I began teaching private lessons and directing the commercial vocal ensemble at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. While working at Trevecca, I taught many different genres of music to music majors, music minors, and elective students. Read More

By day, I am the high school and middle school Choral Director, General Music Teacher, and Voice Lesson Teacher at Mineral Point. By night, I serve as the Musical Theatre Director at the school, and offer private vocal lessons. I was an Adjunct Instructor of non-major voice lessons at NYU Steinhardt for three years, and an independent lesson teacher in the NYC metro area. I have had the opportunity to work for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp (late-elementary, middle, and high school aged campers) in a variety of positions, including Voice Faculty, Choir Minor Teacher, Unit Director, and Counselor. Instruments: Voice
My teaching is rooted in the philosophy of functional singing, which means everything I teach has a purpose rooted in the physiology of singing. We do a lot of different exercises and say a lot of funny sounding words, but each exercise is carefully crafted to maximize training your voice's flexibility, agility, or strength. Similar to how you might do a bicep curl to make your bicep stronger, vocal exercises are part of a broader "vocal workout" regimen based on what your voice needs on any given day. Read More
