My teaching experience started while finishing my second program in college in 2016. With a career planned, I was ready to start sharing the ways of the fretboard to my students. With that, comes something thats most important, dedication. With dedication, you start a practice strategy, whether you want to memorize all the 12 major scales in all five CAGED patterns, or learn Hendrix's "Purple Haze" there must be dedication. Setting goals is very important to learning music, or your instrument, achieving is when you've finally reached what you've strived for, and challenge is when you take your goal and add some "spice" to it, whether it's playing faster, or learning the modes of the major scale. I enjoy being creative and utilizing new ideas and approaches to improve the learning environment for my students. I have incorporated a variety of hands on activities, fun assignments and learning projects to inspire and motivate my students. This includes the integration of current recording and electronic instrument technology throughout the curriculum. I am passionate about empowering and inspiring students while helping them to develop their full potential. Once the student feels comfortable with the mouthpiece and the long tones, I acquaint the student with fundamentals such as the positions, partials, scales and different types of articulations. For intermediate and advanced students, I focus on repertoire. Applying practices similar to what I have described above, I work with the student on playing repertoire with expression and facility. A dedicated educator, Andrew maintains a private studio of pupils of all ages and serves as an adjunct professor of music at California Arts University in Fullerton, CA.
