My experience goes back over ten years. I have taught students privately and also from teaching services. Presently, I am teaching piano at a school here in the Miami area. In additionn to that, I have several private students that I teach at my home studio. My students are encouraged to practice everyday. If they are taking lessons because they are interested, it is easier to teach them. If they are coming because their parents want to learn, they are not as inclined to enjoy their lessons. Read More

For children and other beginners, I would start our lessons by encoding the basic function of music theory application of a drum pad. This will allow stick control and muscle memory to begin developing. As the beginner becomes more of a novice, I will introduce simple and repetitive songs and go over them as whole pieces. Those who are experienced in percussion, I will have them show me all of the rudiments they know, any complete pieces they have memorized, and have 5 minutes of improvisation. Read More

I began teaching guitar in 2002 while still attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. That's when I found my true calling in life and I have now taught hundreds of students. Several of my former students have even gone on to obtain part-time and full-time music careers. I've also helped several of my students with college auditions so that they too can become musicians, like me. Music is a way of life for me and I can't think of anything more rewarding. Read More

As we progress, we'll explore emotional expression in singing, work on clear pronunciation, and even dip our toes into the world of piano, making sure it's all super fun and tailored just for you. Hi! My name is Katya. I was born and raised in Soviet Union, where I studied piano since I was 5 years old. I got a classical piano education in Soviet Union, graduating with honors from a music school, later graduating from a Music College, and further advancing my education by taking private lessons in Cape Town, South Africa from a well-known London-based pianist Graham Fitch and recently taking private lessons from Raisa Isaac – Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Pianist. For beginning singers, I truly work on getting the support system working as early as possible. Because of the delicacy of the youngest voices, I believe this is the most fundamental aspect of singing. Range can be developed as the vocal mechanism develops, but this will all be made easier with a solid support structure. For intermediate singers, I work on freeing the voice and allowing the natural vibrato (or 'spin') to come through. Read More
