For beginning folk/pop guitar students I use the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. For Classical guitar I use a combination of various resources, including Segovia scales, Sor studies, Guilianni right-hand studies and Frederick Noad method books. I definitely encourage students to work towards performance of the music they are working on, and try to schedule recital/performance opportunities as students deveope and gain mastery over their material. I always try to maintain a healthy balance between keeping the student working on music that challenges them, and advances their technique, with the need to have fun and enjoy the playing of a musical instrument as a means of entertainment and relaxation. I am a passionate and patient vocal coach who loves working with students that are excited about becoming better singers and musicians. In 2018, I graduated from Belmont University with two Bachelor's Degrees in Commercial Music and Music Business. Currently, I am studying to earn a Master's Degree in Contemporary Performance from Berklee College of Music. I began performing onstage at five years old, and haven't stopped since. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to perform in many shows and venues across the U.S., largely in the Kansas City Metro area. Read More
Instruments: Drums
The most important thing for me is to make sure my students are having fun and developing an interest and deep appreciation for their craft. By taking into account their personal goals and aspirations, while also implementing long and short-term goals, my students enjoy rapid progress and develop a strong passion for drums. Read More

Much of my training techniques come from my experience with Voice Teacher, Dr. Joseph Collins (PhD, Vocal Pedagogy), whom I studied with while living in Nashville. Dr. Collins made clear to me many secrets to developing proper vocal execution and placement that had been a mystery before. I gained much more awareness and understanding of my own voice. I have enjoyed many years of private vocal instruction while at universities (Kent State University, Belmont University) and have learned good and valuable practices from different professors. I originally started teaching private lessons late in high school and have been teaching students ever since. I greatly enjoy the lessons I teach and it is very important to my that my student teaching enjoys them too. I have taught students with experience levels ranging from beginner to advanced, and ages ranging from kids to adults. I have had many incredible guitar teachers over the years who have inspired in many ways, and my goal is to provide the same inspiration and guidance that I have been given in the past. Read More
Instruments: Cello
For young students, I typically start with pieces and concepts from the Suzuki books, but generally strive to help students feel excited and comfortable about playing and practicing the instrument. This involves musical games, learning to play by ear, and beginning to learn to read music. With older students, I teach how to practice, how to execute technique, and then tailor lessons to students' goals and interests. Throughout teaching I play duets with students, and encourage students to become comfortable with performance and collaboration. Read More

My goal is to get people up and running as quickly as possible, playing music they want to play. Practice is needed and my hope always is to get students to want to practice, not because they have to practice. I always use the term "rehearse", as we musicians don't like to practice but we are alway's rehearsing. If I can inspire a student, then their goal of being successful is very attainable. Read More
