I have over 6 years of experience of private music lessons and have taught children anywhere from 4- 17. At age 15, I started my own freelancing private piano teacher business. It started small and locally, but I fell in love with teaching others and inspiring others with my passion of music. Ever since graduating Berklee College of Music in 2022, I knew teaching is what I know and love. I love watching a student develop a passion for music. Read More

My goal is to get people up and running as quickly as possible, playing music they want to play. Practice is needed and my hope always is to get students to want to practice, not because they have to practice. I always use the term "rehearse", as we musicians don't like to practice but we are alway's rehearsing. If I can inspire a student, then their goal of being successful is very attainable. Read More

Although my methods vary a bit depending on the instrument, the general plan is the same. For beginner students of instruments I focus first on fundamentals, such as finger placement, note names, what makes up chords so forth (again with a high emphasis on practice). I will gladly print out hard copies of chord sheets, note names, songs with chord markers if desired, or can display these digitally! For beginner students of voice, I start by teaching proper breathing, different parts of the voice, warm ups, and assessing the students vocal range. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music and be successful! I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I try and be an encouraging teacher while also providing constructive criticism so my studnet always feel like theyre growing in a safe environment. Read More

My teaching style isopen-minded, enriched with kind, positive words, and based on clarity. I find that the best teaching style is one that anticipates the student's needs and guides him or her on a stable, rigorous, and inspiring musical journey. The goal is to build a fearless, fun-loving, and mature student of the arts who is confident in his or her ability. I have developed specific techniques to deal with performance anxiety, physical limitations, and common musical challenges. Read More

Expression at the Speed of Thought Since beginning his teaching career in 1974 David has taught thousands of people how to play guitar! Some aspiring only to play at home for fun and others to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. David Fisher has also taught advanced guitar and music theory to several professional musicians who already play other instruments fluently including Oscar nominee Scott Rogness, who co-wrote and performed the songs featured in the movie That Thing You Do. For my beginning students, I typically start with either Essential Elements 2000 for strings or Sound Innovations. Both books give younger students a grasp on the fundamentals of technique. As they grow I then introduce solo repertoire by using the Suzuki Books but also like to add a fiddle book. Sometimes students gradually go either to fiddle or to classical. I try and encourage what they are more comfortable with. For adults, I try to find out what genre of music they enjoy and try to gauge their ability level with a couple playing evaluations. Read More
