Nothing is more rewarding to me than to assist my students develop a passion for music and to master their music goals quickly. As a coach I have a natural instinct for adapting to the student's learning style, motivating them to succeed and to develop a well rounded discipline of practicing, musical exploration and interaction that leads to maximum results. I'm a loving, and encouraging teacher. As a licensed clincical hypnotherapist/nutritionist, I am able to also assist my students in such areas as: releasing audition/performance anxiety, resolving physical and health issues such as arthritis/tendonitis, asthma and vocal challenges, resolving stuttering and lisps, reducing foreign accents and improving vocal diction. I also love to interact with parents with children on how to effectively expand music appreciation in the family. I can successfully tailor my instructional style to your wants and needs. I do teach in student's home within a 12 mile radius, but encourage new students to consider taking lessons at my studio where I can offer not only a comfortable environment but recording equipment, full music score archive, audio archive and music software.
I have been teaching for the last 14 years for other music schools as well as my home studio. I love to help new students from the ages of 4-99 in learning the joys of playing an instrument or instruments that they are going to enjoy. Nothing truly satifies me more than to see a student advance in their insturment as each lessons passes by. Daily quality and not quantity practice is something I like to encourage the student to be able to advance much faster in mastering the instrument. Encompassing many styles of music from classical to modern music is the key I believe will help the student learn. Playing and instrument should be fun and challenging and should not be thought of as a chore for the student.
I'm a freelance Saxophonist in the Los Angeles area. I primarly play jazz, R&B, Gospel and Hip-Hop. I also teach with in the Inglewood School District for their LEAP After-School Program teaching piano and jazz band for grades 3-6. I'm very passionaite about music and sharing my knowledge that I've obtained from my education and performance experiences with others. I also compose and arrange music for myself and others. I've played with such musical artist as Shelia E, George Duke, Delfyeo Marsalis, Ralph Peterson, Terri Lynn Carrington, Esperanza Spaulding, Billy Hart, and Robin Thicke. I have a very diverse and eclectic background and taste in music.
I teach private and group music lessons in a variety of settings and for all age levels. As an instructor for Music Together, I was in charge of small group sessions that introduced infant, toddlers and young children to music in an exciting setting that emphasized creativity and exploration. As a private piano, voice, and violin teacher, I strive to give students a solid technical grounding and the ability to play a mix of pop music and classical pieces. I'm always looking to teach new students of all experience levels and ages!
I graduated with a degree in both Music and Educational Psychology from University of Rochester with additional studies at Eastman School of Music to hone my performance skills. My exposure to the master educators of these institutions has given me hands-on experience with the most effective teachings and practices of music education. I have been teaching private and group lessons for saxophone and ukulele in Los Angeles area for the past year. My students are encouraged to find thier own passion in music and bring those interests to my lessons. I enjoy teaching students of all ages, as no one is too old!

Dr. Nedra C is incredible. She knows her craft in and out, it truly shows in her teaching. As well, she cares a great deal about the student, and preps plenty of material outside of the lesson for those that she teaches. I've had many different music teachers and am aware who's talented and cares, and who isn't. Dr. Nedra C is true phenomenal, and any student would be lucky to have her.

My 4 year old son is quite energetic. Another piano teacher tried to teach him before Peter and could not get my son to listen to him at all. That teacher told me that my son had no interest and that we needed to wait before having my son take lessons. Peter started teaching my son a few weeks later. He quickly developed a great rapport with my son. I was astounded when my son sat down and listened to Peter during the first lesson. Peter has remarkable patience and is a natural working with children. He knows when to follow the child's lead. My son is very interested in how the piano works, so Peter takes the time to teach him about this. He is able to use my son's interests (superheroes, Lego, Star Wars, etc.) to refocus him back to playing the piano. Between lessons, he brainstorms on how he can teach my son better. For example, my son was playing the notes, but not understanding rhythm, so Peter looked into it and came back the next week with a new plan which helped. My son looks forward to his lesson every week. When he hears the doorbell ring on lesson day, he exclaims, "Yay! Peter's here!"

Martina has been teaching our daughter violin since early 2015. Every time our daughter has a lesson she comes away in such a great mood - she really enjoys her lessons! Martina is positive and encouraging and adjusts her teaching to help our daughter learn the best way for her learning needs. We were curious about how online lessons would work, and it turns out that they work really well. The 1:1 time and ability to teach from a distance make it work just as well as in person. We've had moves and schedule changes and Martina has been very flexible for us - which made such a big difference in making violin lessons accessible. Absolutely recommend her!

Andrew is very encouraging and uplifting, but also isn't afraid to tell you your weaknesses. Andrew also is super awesome with scheduling. Fits around your schedule all the time. He really knows what he is doing and can help you reach your goal in the time you would like to. Couldn't have gotten a better teacher, who continually helps me grow and pushes me.

After signing up for lessons with David L. I knew I made the right choice. Just after a couple of weeks I didn't see him as a teacher but as a best friend. There was always a relaxed atmosphere during the lessons. He was very easy to talk to and he really listen to you. If I ever had a question he would answer. He tailors to what ever you want to do in that lesson. David L. is a great teacher and a friend. I totally recommend him for anyone

I have been playing the drums for about 5 years and I have to say that Alvaro is very patient. He has opened me up to new styles of music and I can now play a Songo groove! What I liked most was that he was flexible in what I wanted him to teach me and would also bring in new material specifically to what I wanted him to show me. Overall, great patient teacher and would highly recommend! Thanks Alvaro!

Karleen has really turned it around for me. My previous teacher (not from Musika) had me feeling anxious, upset, and incapable...NOT the desired result! Karleen's method is clear, appropriate for my beginning level, and (best of all) actually lets me achieve some progress! I'm actually looking forward to my lessons now!

Brett is an accomplished musician, who shared his knowledge at a level that my five year old understands. He is polite and relaxed in his mannerisms but take a serious approach to focusing on the lesson. He is very patient and engaging with the attention span you'd expect from a kindergartener. His motto ever is "sometime you learn faster by going slow"
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
