Instruments: Flute
I started teaching in 2012, I took some time off after school and traveled to Shanghai-China. There I taught at Rubato Music, a private music studio. I gave lessons to children and adults, had my first experience introducing the instrument to novice students. I took notes from colleague and learned from more experienced teachers on ways to better explain/demonstrate lesson material. It always make me very happy each time when I see improvements in my students' playing. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding then passing your love for music on to a student. Each person learns at there own pace and skill level. With each lesson we will set small reachable and realistic goals. These goals will fit in with your larger overall goals. My teaching style is different then others as I'm able to tailor each lesson to fit your needs rather then go through a strict regiment. I like to take each of my students on a case-by-case basis. I learn a little about them, what their goals in taking lessons are, and what kinds of music the like to play. When I reach for a method book, it is usually Mel Bay or Berklee Music Press for electric bass and guitar, or The Simandl Method for upright bass. I like to gauge what level the student is at and go from there, making sure that they have a strong foundation of fundamentals regardless of what the student's ultimate goal is. Read More

I have been teaching since 2012 while still in school. Once entering Berklee College of Music I started to work as part of the Vocal and Piano Departments to help incoming students with learning how to write charts and play with a band. I have taught internationally in places such as China and Vietnam and created full curriculum for International camps around Vietnam. I am currently teaching a few remote students and have taught ensemble classes and VQT Music Academy in Garden Grove, California Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Music
A music student should be able to practice and perform as though no one is watching, and that it is simply the spontaneous expression of the soul! For this, I have to curate material and instruction so that it is authentic and engaging to the student - this is what unlocks the truest connection to musicianship. I believe that high-level training is the diligent pursuit of quality and detail - and that talent is simply how one approaches ANY new material. Read More
Instruments: Piano
Learning piano is fun. I started playing at a very young age and when I mean young, I mean really young. I started playing the piano when I was 3 1/2 and I had no idea what I was doing back then but my Mom persistently sent me to music school. Today, I am so thankful that because of her persistence and patience, I was able to become a great pianist. There were a lot of rough patches when the music got really difficult to play and I wanted to quit multiple times but despite the challenges, my Mom was my #1 fan and kept encouraging me through the process. Instruments: Voice
My experience as a teacher dates back to my community college years, as I began teaching privately in 2013. Something I have learned over the years is that regular and consistent practice time is our best friend as musicians. Singing is a form of exercise and the more we repeat healthy vocal habits, the better we will sing. This is why I encourage all of my students to set some time aside to work on their voice and music.
