Overview:
Hello! My name is Steven, and I am a working actor/singer in Los Angeles. I graduated from Cal State Northridge with a my Bachelors Degree in music and a minor in musical theater. I performed in numerous shows while I attended CSUN and I also ventured out and performed with LA Opera and with a touring production of Cabaret. Along side singing and acting I also enjoy teaching and spreading the love and freedom of music to others. My dream is to be on a Broadway stage and live my life singing and dancing until I cant anymore.
EXPERIENCE
I have had 2 private students for the past year both for voice: -Zoe 15 -Lucas 13 I officially started teaching while I was with The After School All-Stars teaching their school of rock band. I was with them for 3 years and in that time I was able to not only have the students perform as a band but I also taught the students how to be "techies". Not all of them wanted to play instruments but they still wanted to be a part of the group so I said Why Not?" I later on returned to my old high school and have been teaching there as a musical theater teacher. I led classes in singing, tap dancing (jazz included), and acting. Ive been with them for a couple years now and Ive got the students to leave with their toes tapping.
METHODS USED
Music should be fun. Plain and simple thats why I believe and that is whats kept me pushing forward. Its not going to always be an easy experience learning new things but that does not mean it cannot be fun. I want my students to feel like they are more than enough to play this song or sing that song. I want my students to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. That may sound cheesy but there is always some truth in good cheesiness. No matter if it is Voice, Cello, or Piano I will always start with the basics. Warm ups are important and will be made an important part in the student's learning
LESSON STYLE
Have fun. Love what you do. If it stops being fun push a little further ahead and see what happens. All it takes is a little ember to start a fire and I am ready to help my students find that fire within themselves. Its not always going to be easy and they will fall and stumble and when that does happen (and it will) I will be there to show them how to pick themselves up. I believe its important to acknowledge accomplishments but it is just as important acknowledge those bumps in the road. Mistakes are not necessarily bad and are welcomed. Its all a part of the process. I live my life by these simple words: "Why Not"

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.

Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
