Instruments: Trumpet
I've tutored a few freshman when I was a senior in high school, and I can say that I have a good understanding of what a trumpet player (or a wind instrument in general), should be practicing just based on my experience and the teacher's I've had. My goal is to emulate the teaching's I've been taught to another person. I've always been someone who likes teaching, and I've been told that I explain things well. Read More

I begin all students with the appropiate level of the Alfred's method. If they have had training with another method, I work to blend that method with the Alfred's method during the first month or two of lessons. Once the student has learned the fundamentals, I introduce them to the solo repertoire appropriate for their level and their genre of greatest interest to them. I hold a recital once a year to give students experience in performance. Read More
Instruments: Piano
As previously stated, I love sharing my passion for music and piano with my students! With that being said, watching my students grow as a musician is truly an amazing experience to be apart of! I love to have a good balance with my students of working with technique but also working on something that is fun to play or something of the students pick so that the interest and motivation to play is as high as possible. I first started working with children when I was attending Florida State College. I took a course on elementary education, and did some field work at a local elementary school. It was there that I found out how much I really loved kids. I had a wonderful time in the classroom. It was fun getting to know the students, and I loved how their faces lit up when I read them stories or helped them with their arts and crafts. Read More

I've been singing since I was a child. I've played in school orchestra and church praise band even before college. I've performed for the president and sung in Moscow's Red Square. My studies have focused on liturgical church music though my pentecostal church background has helped combine spirit with tradition. I currently teach music to grades K-5 in a public charter school in Duval County, Florida. Read More

For beginner piano students, I have two methods books that I use. For young children, I use the Bastion Piano Basics series. It is colorful, fun, and exciting for young learners. It is also very informative, so parents can help their young ones practice if they need the help! For beginning adult students, I use the Faber Adult Piano Adventures series, as this is more tailored to older students. It is less focused on colorful visuals, and uses language geared toward older learners. Read More
