Since High School (2005) I began to teach music in my own studio in Puerto Rico, working with kids and adults. My main goal is to create a collaborative work plan. I will never impose a single method in all the students, because we all have different aspirations and different priorities. I will help you as a student to accomplish any goals you can have and I will do whatever it takes to keep you motivated. Read More

I like to start by exploring where the student is at in their musical education and what they are looking to study in private lessons. From there, we build the lesson around them! Once we’ve established where to begin, I’ll ask the student to choose a piece they’d like to perform and I’ll assign them a piece of my own choice as well. For my classical students I'll typically start with art song repertoire and for musical theatre I'll choose a classic piece. Read More
Instruments: Piano
I have been playing the piano since I was 7 years old and ever since the piano has been such a huge part of my life. I have been teaching piano since I was 16 and that was when I realized that teaching would always be apart of my life. Teaching someone how to play from the beginning is my true passion because it is such a beautiful thing to be able to learn such an astounding instrument and I love to be apart of that process. I have taught privately on and off for 5 years now and I have taught all levels and at a variety of ages. No student is the same so in the past I have set out a path for each student dependent on what they want out of music and what interests they have. I believe in making lessons fun but at the same time I want my students to really go away from each lesson feeling inspired to practice and feeling like their time with me was well spent and they learned a lot. My first teaching experiences were with my father during solo and ensemble. Having hired me as an accompanist for his students, I found myself rehearsing these students moreso than accompanying them. From that point I felt encouraged to teach and help others perfect their craft. My biggest influences would have to be my past teachers, one of which taught me younger and the other as I matured. I believe that while learning to read and write sheet music, developing technique and feel, and understanding music theory are all important, the most integral part of learning an instrument - as fundamental as it sounds - is to use your ears! Taking music lessons is an awesome experience, and my goal is to make it as fun and accessible as possible for each student. I have high expectations, but I make sure that the goals we set are achievable and realistic for each student. We discuss those goals together, and work toward them at the right pace for the student! Everyone is different, and I want to make sure that each student gets the best learning experience for them! Read More

Each student is different, and therefore requires their own personal curriculum. The first questions from teacher to students should always be, "What is it that makes you want to play", "What kind of music interests you the most", and "What do you hope to accomplish musically". Some people only want to learn a little, others want to go all the way. By asking these questions, one can understand what drives the student to play, and establish a personalized fun and effective curriculum. Read More
