My style of teaching is personal and caring. Whether my students develop a desire to pursue music beyond our lessons, I care about their happiness and personal success in life. I develop a relationship with my students and I really enjoy it when I hear that they used a concept I taught them in our music lessons for something beyond music. I at least hope to instill a strong understanding and enjoyment of music in each of my students which they can share with the people in their life. Read More

I always tailor my lessons to what the student needs and wants. It is my goal that lessons to be relevant to exactly what the student is using their voice for on a day to day basis. I love bringing things out of people and their voices that they had no idea they had in them. So I will always push you further than you thought you could go- but through inspiration and encouragement (along with practical direction to help you get there!!) My goal is to get you singing tension free & guide you to realizing your voice & artistry to the fullest. Read More

I am a composition grad student at Brooklyn Music Conservatory beginning year 2. I play principal trumpet in the orchestra, as well as freelancing around New York playing in musicals, and other groups. Read More

Here are a couple of reviews from students: “Ian’s experience with Sebastian has been nothing short of wondrous. Sebastian has the unique ability to find a musical connection with a broad range of students, From prodigies to students like my son who simply want to know the joy of playing music. Sebastian is able to meet the students where he or she is at in their musical journey and coax that student to move forward at their own pace. Read More

I was 4 years old when I found my passion for playing the piano. I was taught classically through MacPhail Center For Music and attended examinations yearly through The Royal Conservatory of Music. As I grew older, I taught friends and neighborhood kids how to play the piano and found a passion for teaching and watching people learn. I currently play the keyboard in a local band and do shows throughout the Twin Cities. Read More
