As supplemental material, I use Keynote Speller by Shaum and Line a Day by Keith Snell.  For solo repertoire, I select methods based on the skills and favorite pieces of each student. I was 4 years old when I found my passion for playing the piano. I was taught classically through MacPhail Center For Music and attended examinations yearly through The Royal Conservatory of Music. As I grew older, I taught friends and neighborhood kids how to play the piano and found a passion for teaching and watching people learn. There are a few exercises from the essential elements book that I like to use with beginners, but not enough to warrant purchasing the book. I provide photocopies of all the lessons, as well as supplemental videos in some cases.
