Again like i said before my style would have to be personalized, of course it is always good to take things gradually, if there's something that really made Berklee stand out from other colleges is that it has a really gradual approach to really complex subjects for example if you wanted to learn Jazz in other schools you would be required to know a lot about Jazz harmony beforehand in order to proceed with the classes but in Berklee you can really start from point 0 which is a method that schools around the world have been copying for decades. I structure lessons to be as fun as possible while also helping students grow musically. For beginner students, I typically start by teaching from Flute 101: Mastering the Basics by Phyllis Avidan Louke and Patricia George. If the student is in a band or orchestra program, I make sure to incorporate any method books or music being taught in that program into my lessons as well. I also use workbooks and games to teach beginning music theory and karate belt levels to encourage younger students to learn their scales. Read More
