Kirk has experience teaching students of all ages for the past 10 years. He teaches privately as well as teaching through the school system. Kirk founded his own musical organization for low income families.
My teaching style varies from student to student because all students learn differently. What does not change from student to student is the exitement and enthusiasm I bring to every lesson. I genuinely love to teach and if my students are not loving to learn, I need to change my approach. I also believe in strong communication, so students and parents are always aware of my expectations. Above all else, students should be learning in their lessons, cultivating a love and appreciation for music, and enjoying their lessons. Music lessons should always be a positive experience!
I believe that my students should have high expectations and have fun while completing goals. I make sure lessons are fun and progressive. I hold my students to high expectations so when they meet their goal they actually kill two birds with one stone (ex: figuring out a difficult passage in school music while progressing in technique exercises). I give students accompanying assignments to be supplemental to what they have in technique or to help with school music. I always make sure my lessons are tailored to what the student needs and to what the student has learned or not learned yet.
For beginning students that are in middle or high school, I typically start them out learning snare drum technique, and reading rhythms. For technique I will use standard exercises and rudiments, and for reading I will use "Syncopation for The Modern Drummer". If the student has a drumset then I will start them with some basic "Rock" beats as a tool to help them better understand the subdivision of time, and form some independence. Most of my students move into Gary Chester's "The New Breed" as their first drumset book. After teaching for 25 years, I have developed a lot of my own lesson meterials, and I try to cater the lesson plans to both challenge the students and keep them having fun learning.
I began teaching private piano lessons my junior and senior years of high school. For those two years I taught private lessons from my home. I am currently teaching again after completing my bachelor of arts degree in music. I strive to help students learn the skills necessary to one day play the piano independent of an instructor, such as reading music. I feel that music should be a fun, enjoyable experience. I help the student learn music that they enjoy as well as piece that will challenge them to learn new skills. Learning to play the piano should be a fun and enriching experience.

My daughter, Valarie is one of the original members of the Enrichment Center Percussion Ensemble under the guidance of Aaron. He patiently worked with Valarie as well as the other five members individually and as a group to produce music that has been shared and enjoyed locally as well as nationally. David is not only a great musician and educator but also a delightful human. We began using David six years ago as a piano teacher for my two boys. Since then my eldest moved on to acoustic and electric guitar and my youngest electric and stand up bass. Somewhere along the way I began to take guitar lessons also (I was David's most bearded student at age 48). David always came prepared to lead but also to follow, he often asked what we were listening to and taught us how to play it. His ability to listen to a piece of music and transcribe it always left me amazed, we have several notebooks full of songs we learned individually or played as a group. After a shoulder injury David continued to impress by teaching me music theory instead of our usual lesson. I could go on forever, David made a positive impact on my family and feel fortunate to have met him.

Eduard is an amazing teacher. (Coming from someone who previously knew the basics of playing and music.) He is not to harsh with his words and is extremely nice. Eduard has a great amout of experience and displays it through his teachings. Specifically by making it easy to follow along with his words to actions. Ali was an amazing voice coach! She taught in a way that made sense to me, and helped me find the voice placements I needed. I didn't know I could sound like that! My development with her was leaps and bounds rather than tiny dreadful steps that happen when you don't know what's going on! Ali was dedicated to helping me work on an audition for a music scholarship and I nailed it all thanks to her, seriously. I can't thank her enough! My 4 year old son is quite energetic. Another piano teacher tried to teach him before Peter and could not get my son to listen to him at all. That teacher told me that my son had no interest and that we needed to wait before having my son take lessons. Peter started teaching my son a few weeks later. He quickly developed a great rapport with my son. I was astounded when my son sat down and listened to Peter during the first lesson. Peter has remarkable patience and is a natural working with children. He knows when to follow the child's lead. My son is very interested in how the piano works, so Peter takes the time to teach him about this. He is able to use my son's interests (superheroes, Lego, Star Wars, etc.) to refocus him back to playing the piano. Between lessons, he brainstorms on how he can teach my son better. For example, my son was playing the notes, but not understanding rhythm, so Peter looked into it and came back the next week with a new plan which helped. My son looks forward to his lesson every week. When he hears the doorbell ring on lesson day, he exclaims, "Yay! Peter's here!"
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
