Studying music has been one of the most positive forces in my life. I am dedicated to providing a welcoming and non judgmental environment for my students to freely express themselves. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in New York with my Bachelors degree and I returned to pursue my Masters degree. I have performed all over the world and I produce many concerts for charity. I have performed in major venues such as Alice Tully Hall and the Cathedral of St. Read More

My Teaching experience began in High School when people would ask me to teach them after they heard me play. In order to teach my students more effectively, I decided to study classically at that time and studied with Morton Estrin, (Billy Joel's Piano Teacher) and Ross Barentine, a celebrated conductor. While they each had drastically different styles of teaching and playing, I was able to take the best from both and create a method of teaching that will give my student the technical ability to play advanced pieces while helping them to become well-rounded music artists. Instruments: Piano
I only teach Intermediate and Advanced students, and my method really depends on the particular student. I don't believe in a single, "core curriculum" for piano-playing. It really depends on the students' goals, strengths/weaknesses, etc. For my beginning intermediate students, I usually give a selection of little pieces to learn by Bach, Schubert, and Schumann to start developing their ear and sense of rhythm/musicality. I also highly encourage my students to learn new things constantly so that they get more comfortable learning new music fast! Read More
Instruments: Voice Music
Hi. Thanks for checking in. I am a professional singer and voice teacher w over 30 years teaching experience. All styles, ages 17-? In lessons, we focus in on anatomy and physiology. This means breathing and vocal mechanics and how to achieve great singing w great technique! Repertoire’ is important, and we spend a lot of the lesson w application of technique in song. My personal experience as a pro singer as well as my ongoing studies as a teacher, help me to continue to grow and get better and faster at communicating the concepts of voice to the student. Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginning piano students who are children, I usually start with the Schaum piano series and will supplement with different pieces or books as the student progresses. I will discuss with the student what type of music they prefer to work on and take this into consideration, as well as any music the student brings in that they would like to work on. The approach is slightly different for adults, according to musical experience and preferences. Read More

For beginning students, I typically begin with a deep dive on rudimental studies and keyboard skills on drums and mallet percussion. I gradually introduce notation and music literacy tools to improve the students understanding of how the fundamentals of music interact with one another. I use a lot of rote teaching methods as well to take full advantage of how physical percussion and drums can be. I find that students interests will quickly guide me to making suggestions for different repertoire to take on as the student is ready. Read More

My method involves a two part approach - one is to teach proficiency with basics (reading and playing music). The other is to learn what music is, and how to keep yourself interested, progressing and that is by creating, modifying, improvising and composing. I believe everyone should dedicate at least part of their time with music to creativity. My methods also teach proficiency as the means to an end - creating great music. Read More
