For beginners, I always reincorporate very crucial skills to possess with constant repetition (i.e.: intonation, posture, bow technique, finger positioning). On top of this, I build on rhythm. Many times, parts of my lessons include simply clapping, so that students get a grasp for rhythm and constantly improve upon it. In terms of classical training, for me, knowing the "feeling" of the piece is key. By building upon this feeling, I introduce different styles and different techniques that the student can learn. I am very flexible on my teaching methods. My methods really differ for each student and their needs and wants. It is important to teach 10 year olds and 30 year olds differently! I like to make the trumpet fun, because that is what music is all about right? For beginners we might work on songs they may know and find fun and can tell their friends about at school. For adults I would do the same but make it more difficult and go further into what they may want to learn. Read More

In 2015, I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies with an emphasis in drumset performance. My private teaching career began in high school, where I was asked by the music teachers in my school district in Westchester, New York to assist in preparing middle- and elementary school students for local competitions and festivals (such as NYSSMA). During college, I was able to maintain a private studio and was fortunate enough to spend summers assistant teaching at music festivals.
