After we have touched on those techniques we will move in to the performance portion of the lessons and how to connect with the song and then being able to portray the message of the song clearly and efficiently to the audience so that they can connect to the emotions that are coming from the song. In high school, I began teaching by showing my peers how to improve on their percussion instruments. For me it keeps it interesting, and it makes me work hard to achieve them. My goal as a teacher is to keep students interested and challenged. Hello, I'm Mackenzie B.. I'm currently a student at the University of Kansas for a Bachelors in Music Education. I am student teaching currently, which is my last step before receiving my degree. I currently work with Kerry Marsh for the KU Jazz Singers and enjoy singing both classical and jazz music. I also have two or three ukuleles and enjoy jamming with an acoustic guitar.
