I can teach many instruments that I have taught myself how to play well and efficiently. I play in many bands and I am always learning new styles of music. My best instruments are Piano, Bass, Drums, Ukulele, Guitar, Percussion, Harmonica, Recorder, Tin Whistle, Mandolin and also Trumpet. My secondary instruments are everything else. I can fool around on Violin, Cello, Banjo and Trombone as an amateur. I could blow into a Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, French Horn and probably anything else I can get my hands on, but I would not feel comfortable teaching them yet because I don't have enough time in the world to learn them and figure out how to play them myself and get as good as I can on those instruments. As part of my graduate and undergraduate studies I regularly taught both locally and abroad to students of all ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. I have also maintained a steady private studio, teaching individual lessons to students for over five years. My teaching style has a strong emphasis on developing and maintaining engagement and excitement with the subject. I believe that a positive attitude is essential to a student’s growth and it is my responsibility as a teacher to develop that attitude. Read More

Hello! As an instructor, I am motivated to find where your passions lie and bring them to their fullest potential. I am classically trained, but discovered my love for jazz music at a young age. In 2018, I graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies (saxophone). I am currently in pursuance of my Masters of Music at the City College of New York, and will be graduating Spring 2020. Read More

I believe every individual has different ways and styles of learning and I adapt my teaching method/style according to the needs of each and every student. Having been trained in the Kodaly method, I found that it is highly versatile and I have been using this method to teach ear-training and music theory to my students. I have been teaching my students with Suzuki, Alfred, Bastien and other classical methods depending on their needs. Read More

Instruments: Voice Synthesizer Music

It is really rewarding when I see my students develop their passion for music and reach their goals. I tailor my teaching style to my students’ wants and needs and I let each student progress at their own pace. I also think it’s really important to set realistic goals, because acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student’s desire to progress. I focus on technique just as much as developing artistic expression. Read More

When teaching children, I typically start out with Suzuki cello repertoire. I am also very serious about teaching physical concepts so that the student is able to express themselves through the instrument I believe that there are certain technical principles that must be communicated and I do my absolute best to make sure that the student understands them. As students become more advanced I then introduce repertoire that suits them and that I believe they will enjoy. Read More

She also taught me the importance of learning fundamentals well and not skipping important steps, so that when the student is more advanced, they will not have to go back and unlearn bad habits in order to play well. In addition to private lessons, I also taught as a part of a teaching artist group that worked with public school classes to help kids write and perform their own music. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
