As students progress, I like to spend more time teaching music theory and how the harmonies and melodies of pieces actually work together. At this stage the music becomes more difficult and lengthy, so I like to group phrases of the piece in sections until they can be played together cohesively. I will start off my lessons with the Bastien Piano Basics course. The student will use a lesson book, a performance book, a technique book and a theory book. Once the student has reached a certain level, they will begin lessons in Piano Literature and John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano. My teaching experience begins in high school where I was appointed to be an orchestra assistant. There, I began offering before and after school private lessons with violinists and violists. Since then, I have graduated and am now attending UNF and assisting the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestra. I currently have two students who participate in the youth orchestra and I adore it.
