Finally, I'm a strong believer in the importance of having a strong ability with and (even more importantly!) understanding of the fundamentals of the saxophone, and of music itself. This means guided practice of the basic exercises in lessons, and guided analysis/breakdown of music to see the inner patterns at work. I try to teach in a way that highlights how, often, improvements can be made instantly, but on the other side, how hard work and diligent practice lead to growth over time. I have been teaching for five years, beginning in Denver, Colorado. I began teaching Glee themed camps and dance classes through an organization in Denver, and then moved on to choreograph children's musicals (the largest of these had 80 children ages six to eighteen!). At my next studio I choreographed and music directed shows (Cinderella Junior and Aladdin Junior). At my busiest in Denver I had thirty-four private students.
