I am a motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my passion for music. I studied at The Center of Music, in Virginia Beach, Va. Playing the piano has been one the most fulfilling accomplishments of my life. I've had the opportunity to work with song writers and compose music for them and accompany singers during their performances. Music is a gift that I love sharing with my students and my goal is to help my students meet their musical goals, one lesson at a time. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
For beginning students, I usually start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has a solid foundation on fundamentals, I begin to increase the rigor of the work. Each student is different, so I try to personalize their lessons. I like for every student to have at least one solo piece to be working on. I always encourage the student to work towards a recital or even a simple solo performance in their own home. Read More

I am a firm believer in having each student learn basic scales, starting with five finger patterns for beginners, since a solid grasp on this technique will aid them in learning any piece. For beginning younger students, I start teaching them from a method book that best suits their learning style. Since each student is different, one method does not fit every student, and I have taught Alfred's Premier Performer, Mayron Cole Piano Method, Hal Leonard, and more. Read More

I use traditional and self developed techniques for instruction. I am very flexible with my teaching styles and am very patient with new students. I use method books and audio and visual aids. I teach both reading music with theory and ear training. I require that all students are able to master all major and minor scales, which I have developed a very simple to learn method to achieve this goal with a 100% success rate. Read More

Helping students achieve their specific goals is very important to me! If they are passionate about a particular style of music, composer, or piece, I will help them reach that goal! I am willing to meet them wherever they are musically. I think it is important for the student to work on a variety of styles and pieces at any given time at their level, so they have a diverse musical palette. Read More
Instruments: Violin
My teaching style is based on the student's skill level. I teach at your pace! Not only do I teach at the student's pace, I have each student construct their own goal calendar to keep in my records as well as the student's home. I like to call it a "music vision board" because to me there are no numerical deadlines on a student's musical progress. I like to find out what inspires a student in order to better my teaching. Hey! I'm Dee, your very own virtuoso of the ivories. I've been tinkering on pianos since before I could even talk, and I must say, it's quite the racket! But enough about my humble beginnings - let's focus on what really matters: the music, and the memories we create together. You see, playing the piano isn't just about pressing keys in a particular order; it's about telling stories, evoking emotions, and transporting you to another world, even if only for a moment.
