My teaching is rooted in the philosophy of functional singing, which means everything I teach has a purpose rooted in the physiology of singing. We do a lot of different exercises and say a lot of funny sounding words, but each exercise is carefully crafted to maximize training your voice's flexibility, agility, or strength. I studied biochemistry until taking a semester to study violin with Barbara Gorzynska in Vienna, after which I found an interest in the processes of learning and authentic relationships to one's activity. I custom make the lesson plans to meet the need of each student, and I play or sing each assignment, then have the student go through everything once before doing it at home.
