I love music and I love teaching. I have been playing the trombone for over 10 years and been involved in music since a very young age. My love of music has given me the opportunity to perform in some of Utah's best music halls, such as Abravanel Hall and The Conference Center on Temple Square, with some of Utah's best performing groups, such as the Utah Symphony and Caleb Chapman's Soundhouse. I have consistently been teaching students in my home for the past 7 years and never want to stop! My goal with each student is to teach the fundamentals of the violin/viola, and especially how to practice in an organized way. I want my students to gain their own love for the instrument and be inspired daily by music. My students are required to practice daily and perform often. I was interested in teaching from a young age; I loved to play school with my friends. I started tutoring in high school, as well as teaching private flute lessons. I have taught private lessons since 2017 and have loved every moment of it, both with beginners and with more advanced high school students. I began working as a marching band technician in 2021 and have since worked for numerous schools. Spending time with these students of all ages and interests brings me great joy, and I know that further pursuance of music will bring the same fulfillment to students for years to come. Read More

I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. At the beginning of a lesson, I like to begin with something fun that the student has been working on. This could be a performance piece, some improvisational composition, or another activity related to the piano. As we go along, I like to branch into the theory behind what we are doing. Once they have a firm grasp on the basics, I like to begin students fairly quickly into learning the circle of fourths, and the scales and chords following the order of the circle of fourths.
