Music education is not one size fits all and I want to honor the different ways students learn. I gain so much happiness knowing that my lessons fit the needs of my students. I am dedicated to nurturing a love for music in each student. I aim to positively enhance the student's strength, dexterity, and technique while building a lasting interest in music. In early lessons, I focus on developing an understanding of the student's goals and personal interests. Read More

I started teaching when I was 18 years old, I had a lot of experience as a musician and singer by then, so I thought it was going to be easyer than what it was, but of course it took me years to find my own method, it was a completely different and new world for me, but after the first months teaching I really started to loved it. At the very first time I just had two students, but then I started to work in small music schools, I started to direct chorus, Intensive courses for adults, and more. Read More

I enjoy working at the begining to intermediate level for children as I get to introduce the earliest piano musical skills and I usually spend thirty minutes on teaching piano practice methods and thirty minutes on music theory skills. Currently, I use books like Dozen a Day, Scales and Hanon to build good finger techniques, John Thompson and John W.Schaum books for songs and theory preparation. For adults, I would use books related to adult beginning stages in piano and music theory. Read More

I firmly believe that a love of music, over anything else, should be the driving force behind learning to play an instrument. I therefore try to instill in my students a genuine love of the art. This love then makes him/her want to practice! Practicing (and the entire learning process in general) should be natural, fluid, creative process rather than the heavy burden many young people make it out to be. Read More

For young students, I would usually start them off using Bastien Piano Basics. It's very digestible, and gives a good starting-off point for both technical playing, and larger musical concepts as a whole. With a student who is older or perhaps more advanced, who has a solid grasp on technical proficiency and music theory, I would typically recommend studying specific pieces, starting with Classical, and eventually moving into Jazz. I feel that following a chronological study of music is one of the best ways to become a well-rounded, versatile player who feels comfortable approaching any material. Read More

For my younger students I prefer using the Faber method books as well as "A Dozen A Day" for finger technique and dexterity. For intermediate and older students I introduce repertoire pieces in addition to leveled method books by Alfred. As my students progress I introduce classical pieces as well as suitable pop pieces based on their interest My older and adult students tend to be more goal oriented in their learning so lessons are developed based on their in individual needs. My teaching experience dates to the beginning of my undergraduate degree. I took one year of music education experience courses and gained valuable experience observing and student teaching in public schools. I have also maintained a small private studio for the past seven years. It is extremely important to me that my students have fun making music and learning to play their instrument. If it isn't enjoyable, there is no point in undertaking the effort to learn a new instrument! Read More
