As exciting as that sounded to me, I really felt it was time to spread my new knowledge away from Hollywood, and begin teaching where I live; in the Inland Empire. In 2013 I graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Percussion Performance and a Jazz Studies Certificate. During the summer of 2013, I attended New York University's Broadway Percussion Seminar and took private lessons on Timpani and sight reading. Evan Michael H. started playing drums at age 5 and never looked back. Born into a musical family, Evan got his first stage experience in a family band with his dad. As teenagers, Evan and his friends created the rock band Escapist and performed at venues across California’s central coast. In 2010, Evan co-founded the rock band STAGE 11 where he's performed drums and other percussion across three albums, multiple residencies, and dozens of independent concerts across LA, including opening for Jefferson Starship at Whisky-a-Go-Go in 2018.
