Many students feel comfortable talking through concepts and techniques while others prefer detailed written instructions in a take home journal. After graduating Whitman, I interned as a music teacher at the Spring Street International School in Friday Harbor, WA. I was mentored by a great teacher, Grisha Krivchenia and learned how to be a compassionate teacher. I helped teach composition, music theory, small groups, bass and guitar. I am glad to say I’ve accomplished many things in the world of music; during my formative years as a guitarist, I took a few high school classes but honed most of my craft in private lessons and during my hours of practice at home. While at UCSB, I again studied privately (apart form completing my undergrad) with Mark Covey, a pupil of Christopher Parkening. As a harp teacher, I have had students as young as seven and as old as 70! I am passionate about pursuing the harp and getting enjoyment out of it no matter what she you are!
