I'm a Strings Teacher full time and enjoy teaching private lessons on the side as a part-time business. I enjoy teaching all ages and have been teaching for over 10 years! I grew up performing in New York and moved down to Nashville TN in 2007. I graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University in May of 2012 and currently work as a full-time Strings Teacher. I have played violin professionally for the past 8 years and enjoy playing weddings and other events. Read More

I have performed with the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra since 2018 and also the assistant principal cellist of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra. In addition, I have played with the Richmond Symphony, the Ocala Symphony, Sinfonia Gulf Coast, Northwest Florida Ballet, Sewanee Summer Festival Symphony, and many other orchestras and ensembles. If it's not obvious, I love performing orchestral repertoire, but also chamber music and pretty much anything else you can think of - and this love of music extends to teaching. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

Instruments: Piano
My approach to teaching music is holistic. I believe there are 3 important components that lead to mastery of the instrument: 1. Technique, 2. Artistry, 3. Comprehension. Technique: Understanding of the body and how it works at the piano. By this, I mean how to play using the weight of the body rather than brute force. Playing the piano does not require strong muscles or physical strength. It requires an intricate and fluid motion that comes from understanding how the hands/arms are connected to the rest of the body, and how they work together to produce sound from the piano. Read More
Instruments: Trombone Bass Guitar Euphonium Tuba
I currently play trombone in ensembles such as the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra, Bone Therapy, Music City Bones, Music City Brass Ensemble, Franklin Brass Quintet, and in other freelance performances throughout the Nashville area. Even though trombone has always been my primary instrument I'm also very active playing bass guitar, playing in a wide variety of bands and genres ranging from hard rock to reggae. I believe that having an understanding and appreciation for other styles of music and instruments can help make a better musician, and learning a new instrument can be fun! Read More

Ive performed professionally in several bands on multiple instruments in the past 10 years, and Ive also done a good bit of studio work from composition and recording, to producing, to mastering. I emphasize practice, having fun, and learning useful skills as the keys to success in music lessons.
