As the student progresses, I introduce techniques that appeal to his or her preferences and strengths as they appear. For adults and teens, I find out what the student's musical goals are, such as accompanying themselves or lead playing, and tailor my instruction and materials to keep the lessons engaging and effective. I began teaching in 2020 during the pandemic. My experience during then was mostly through online lessons. During these lessons, I organized group sessions for students and recitals where they were able to showcase their ability. In 2021 I began lessons in person and also expanded to teaching bass as well. My former students currently are members of their youth orchestras as well as musicians in some of the local bands.
