My main focus is on reaching the student, and fostering their love of music. I am adamant about instilling in students the genuine excitement and desire to pick up their instrument and practice. This is the most important lesson and will never leave a student. I do this largely by integrating what a student needs to learn in order to excel into what they want to learn, and I have had great success with this method. Read More

Although my methods vary a bit depending on the instrument, the general plan is the same. For beginner students of instruments I focus first on fundamentals, such as finger placement, note names, what makes up chords so forth (again with a high emphasis on practice). I will gladly print out hard copies of chord sheets, note names, songs with chord markers if desired, or can display these digitally! For beginner students of voice, I start by teaching proper breathing, different parts of the voice, warm ups, and assessing the students vocal range. Read More

Im a passionate and driven performer, writer and teacher who loves working with students to bring their unique potential to fruition. In 2017, I graduated from Belmont University with a degree in Vocal Performance. My senior year at Belmont, I was selected as one of four finalists in Belmonts Commercial Showcase. Performing all over the country have been the hilights of my career thus far. I have been honored to play in famed Dolby Theater in Los Angeles and as the guitarist-in-residence at the world-famous Grand Hotel, as well as with national touring acts Madame Gandhi and Thelma and the Sleaze. I want to set my students up for success. It's important for each student to move at his/her own pace. My studio has a relaxed atmosphere. Each student learns differently. I will do my best to tailor the lessons to the goals, needs and abilities of each student. I want to know what inspires the student. Acknowledging accomplishments helps drive students to progress - motivating the student to learn more. Read More

I have spent the majority of my life as learning the guitar and studying music, and I am dedicated and passionate about sharing my knowledge and love of the instrument with the students I teach. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors Degree in Guitar Performance and recently just moved to Nashville where I am currently playing professionally and teaching students. I find teaching to be an incredibly rewarding experience on my musical journey, and look forward to helping my students reach their goals. Read More

For beginner guitar students I use Mel Bays You Can Teach Yourself guitar . I emphasize chords and technique and playing melodies. For piano students I teach students first to listen and immitate and then read. Once they master some basics in reading music I introduce chords. My vocal students start each lesson with warmups and apply the techniques to the songs that they are learning. I believe in making lessons fun and enjoyable but at the same time emphasize the importance of daily practice. Read More

I have used many different methods over the years and will supplement any method book to meet the individual needs of the student. My preferred method for young students is the FJH Harris Young Beginner's Guitar Method series. For older students I tend to use either Mel Bay or Hal Leonard methods to teach the fundamentals and then add onto them with whatever suits the student best. For advanced students I prefer the William Leavitt methods from Berklee University Press, which will be a challenge for anyone! Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
