For beginner students, I start with instrumental mechanics and very approachable ear training. We will listen to various styles of music in order to see the natural inclination and joy that the student possesses. From there, we will take our time developing good habits while learning music that the student finds fun and satisfying. I seek to instill musical goals and aspirations in new students by sharing and demonstrating music that they really enjoy. Read More

I started teaching over 8 years ago, and currently teach many private students in their homes. I have also taught at Music And Arts, in many of their facilities over the years. I teach several instruments including guitar, bass, piano, drums and voice. Students of any age or skill level are welcome to take lessons with me, and I can work to achieve their goals—whether it’s just to sing around the campfire with friend or to tour the world and become a professional musician. I have been teaching for over 18 years and was Vice President of New York City classical guitar society where I recruited top musicians and also performed and gave masterclasses . In addition, I have performed in festivals around the world and in 2020, I will be going to Middle East and Europe to give a series of recitals and classes. Teaching is a huge responsibility and should be taken seriously. There is nothing worse than a bad teacher and I always make sure that I take care in each of my students Read More

I have been playing guitar since I was 13. I started playing in bands as soon as I could. When I turned 19, I started to pursue my undergrad in classical guitar performance. My major allowed me to delve into many different styles of music such ranging from classical to popular folk music from South America. While doing my undergrad, I did a lot of private teaching on the side where I was introduced to so many other genres of music. Read More

For me, that created a lot of boredom and disinterest at times, so I just can't really think of any good reason to avoid that way of doing things. The teacher is the one giving the service, and I personally believe that this specific type of service should be defined by the student and not curated by the teacher! I believe in short, consistent, daily practice times, but I think practice can be useless if it isn't done correctly. Read More

My methods are non-traditional for some students and traditional for others. Each person learns differently and needs different methods to achieve their goals. I have used Essential Methods books, Jump Right In books, and others that I have found in my studies as a music teacher. I believe music is learned in many different ways, by ear, by reading, and by playing. We learn to talk by talking and being surrounded by those who talk. Read More
