Hi, My name is Solomon and I am a passionate artist, musician, producer, teacher (Piano/Keyboard Acoustic/Electric Guitar) and student of music performance and music production. In 2011, i stepped deeper into my music career by beginning to experiment with neo-soul, classic rb, funk and reggae music via taking music theory and piano classes at Morgan State University, soon joining the professional musicians in the area who performed publicly. I've been producing music and performing for 9 years, both on stage and in-studio production sessions. Read More

I have taught many students of various musical styles for the past 20 years. From some that just want to play the guitar in their living room or treat it as a hobby, to students that want to pursue a career in music. Every student is unique , so i utilize various methods and different approaches to suit each individual's needs and capabilities. In my many years of teaching, what I have realized is that proper technique should be emphasized as early as possible so that the student will not carry bad traits both in practice and in performance. My methods of teaching are primarily based on the individual. Within the first lesson, I make an assessment of the individuals musical abilities, and document the genres of music that interests the student. I then create a curriculum based on that assessment, which includes music theory, building repertoire (including music that interests the student), and music history/literature. I also encourage the student to engage in music competitions/auditions and student recitals. Read More

I encourage small but daily practice. you don't have to play guitar for 4 hours a day to make good progress. Just 15 minutes every day will be sufficient especially when you first start out. It is deeply satisfying when i see a student grasp a concept that they worked so hard on. set realistic goals and don't try to overwhelm yourself by trying to play extremely difficult music in a short amount of time. basics is key if you know the basics you can do the harder things and with ease.
