I am a music instructor and performer (as Min. of Music), with a passion for music, the fun in musicianship the a collaboration of musical instruments. I began teaching myself at the age of 9. Then furthered my understanding of music through high school, and college. I believe music should be fun to learn, while leaving a proud feeling after you have acheived playing a complete musical piece - which will turn into performance (your chance to get audience to feel your passion with admiration). I enjoy seeing complete groups come together in sync with each other as their music becomes the conversation.
I have taught for many music schools (both public and private). I have also owned my owe school of arts, teaching all instruments, putting together young groups. One group in particular called: "ARCTIC THUNDER" was a group of 14 children from 8 - 14 yrs old. They performed at Walt Disney (Magic Music Days), and opened for many known recording artist. You can see a video of them recording by searching for Kayla Arctic Thunder on Youtube. I have taugh and mentored young gospel musicians as well in piano and voice. I have also been part are a recording group in LA Calif., where I developed my multi instrument skills.
For beginning students, I teach with a method that would not "reinvent the wheel" learning notes on they instrument which makes sense to them easily. A,B,C, etc.. Once the notes are know without thought, they will have knowledge of how music is taught in the industry and from lesson plans like Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Everyone is unique (as GOD has made us) and there are unique ways one can grasp learning music..... You can do it.
It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager tolearn more. By trying to find out what imspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
