I am an experienced flutist and teacher currently serving the DC Metro area, and I love teaching students of all ages and skill levels, from beginners picking up the flute for the very first time to advanced students preparing for County Band auditions and beyond, to adult students interested in learning a new skill. I always find ways to motivate my students to practice on their own. I do this by trying to find music that fits their interests, helping them set long-term and short-term goals, and giving students etudes, repertoire, and practice techniques that are challenging, yet not overwhelming. She returned to the States in 2011 and completed Community-Word Project's Summer Institute for Advanced Teaching Artists. Recently, Blythe trained at Great Lakes Suzuki Institute in Guelph, Ontario.
